Regionals is at ASU next Friday and Saturday.
Yesterday, Junior High Track competed in their district meet. Nine schools competed in this meet yesterday held in Eden.
These athletes did an amazing job this year competing and pushed themselves to be better each meet! We are extremely proud of the turnout we had for this program and look forward to see how successful they become in their future.
Out of the 9 schools, Paint Rock Boys placed 7th overall as a team scoring 42 points. The boys track team consists of 6 athletes: Eric Owen, Gatlin Granger, Landon Calhoun, Jorge Garcia, David Villarreal, and Gentry Hill. Gatling Granger was ranked 6th place as a top athlete in the boys division scoring 22 of the 42 points Paint Rock Boys earned overall.
Gatlin Granger placed 1st in the 110M Hurdles, 4th in the 300M Hurdles, and 3rd in the Shot Put.
Jorge Garcia placed 12th in the 200M Dash
David Villarreal placed 2nd in the 1600M Run and 12th in the 100M dash.
In the 200M Dash, Fritz Hennig placed 15th.
Eric Owen placed 5th in the 800M Run and 4th in the 1600M Run.
The 4x200M Relay consisting of Eric, David, Jorge, and Gatlin placed 4th.
Paint Rock Girls Track Team placed 4th overall with a total of 62 points. The girls track team consists of 13 athletes: Shyanne Bennett, Amanda Dannehim, Ashlynn Hall, Danielle Jefferson, Yuri Martinez, Celeste Mata, Teagan Perdue, Whitney Plumley, Mariela Ramirez, Dalilah Rivera, Shelby Sanchez, Tiffany Timmerman, and Harneet Gill.
Ashlynn Hall was ranked as a top athlete in the girls division scoring 19 of the 62 points Paint Rock Girls earned overall.
Ashlynn Hall placed 5th in the 100M Dash, 17th in the 200M Dash, 1st in Shot Put, and 3rd in Discus.
Danielle Jefferson placed 3rd in the 100M Dash.
Amanda Dannheim placed 16th in the 100M Dash.
Shyanne Bennett placed 16th in the 200M Dash.
Teagan Perdue placed 9th in the 200M Dash.
Celeste Mata placed 3rd in the 400M Dash.
Shelby Sanchez placed 7th in the 400M Dash.
Tiffany Timmerman placed 8th in the 400M Dash.
Dalilah Rivera placed 5th in the 800M Run.
Harneet Gill placed 6th in the 800M Run.
Whitney Plumley palced 6th in the 100M Hurdles and 4th in the 300M Hurdles.
The 4x100M Relay consisting of Danielle, Teagan, Amanda, and Ashlynn placed 5th.
The 4x200M Relay consisinting of Yuri, Teagan, Mariella, and Shelby placed 4th.
The 4x400M Relay consisting of Celeste, Whitney, Danielle, and Yuri placed 3rd.

2018 Regional UIL Meet Results:
Accounting : Austin Stone placed 25th out of 40 contestants.
Literary Criticism : Nadia Benovic Placed 7th, and Madison Hill tied Vivian Brookshore for 25th, out of 42 contestants
Number Sense : Sonny Rey Hennig was 4th place, advancing to the state competition as alternate.
Social Studies: Miguel Martinez was 11th of 42 contestants
Science : Sonny Rey Hennig was first overall, earning 1st place in Biology and Chemistry. We were awarded 2nd place team, and Paige Bednar and David Recio will accompany him to state as the alternate team from Region 2.
Thanks again to all the coaches and staff that have supported these students.
The state meet will take place on Friday and Saturday, on the UT campus in Austin!
